Is homework compulsory?

Is it compulsory for my child to complete homework tasks?

Independent Learning Assignments (ILA's) are not technically compulsory, but completion is expected and strongly encouraged for consolidation of learning. It is important to note that if a pupil fails to submit their ILA's on a regular basis, it may be reflected in their  progress reports.

If a pupil has Additional Support Needs (ASN) and finds completing their ILA's an ongoing struggle, we are able to accommodate. In this instance, parents should fill out an ILA exemption form found on the Parent Portal, to cover periods where the ILA's will not be submitted. This can be completed for periods of a week, a month or permanently. If the pupil chooses to submit their ILA's during this period of exemption, this is not an issue, and they will indeed receive feedback accordingly.
